About
LeAnne Vincent is an award-winning, photo-based visual artist creating conceptual images that investigate human behaviour and environments by drawing inspiration from natural and urban areas, public and private spaces, and shared memories.
In 2020, LeAnne won the Holding Redlich ‘Art for Life’ award and the Spotlight award at the Flying Arts Qld Regional Art Awards.
LeAnne has also successfully exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Regional Queensland galleries, Victoria’s Brunswick St Gallery in Melbourne, and Tasmania’s Cataract Gorge Basin Cottage in Launceston.
During her residency at Clifford Gouldson Lawyers, LeAnne introduced the CGLaw team to cyanotype printing guiding them through a workshop to produce their own print and then collaborating with the team to produce a cyanotype mural to be auctioned for charity at the opening night function.
LeAnne’s charity of choice was Protea Place Women’s Support Centre. A proportion of proceeds from all art sold at the opening night, and 100% of the proceeds of the auctioned piece raised over $3,000 to support the valuable work Protea Place does in supporting women in need.

Garden city
While exploring the Toowoomba region over the eight visits of the residency, I researched biomes. Biomes are areas that incorporate a shared regional ecosystem and comprise diverse habitats in either a terrestrial or aquatic region. Human terrestrial biomes have been recognised and classified by scientists in 2008 as Anthropogenic biomes or “Anthromes”, where human interaction has altered the natural ecosystems of a region and formed contemporary human biomes.
This work explores the Anthromes of the Toowoomba region, reinforcing our connection with nature by highlighting natural elements used in urban structures such as Victorian architecture that often uses nature motifs as decorative elements.
Ultimately Garden City aims to celebrate natural environments in urban areas, while reminding us of our impact on often unseen ecosystems existing around us.
